Barbara Freedgood
Barbara Freedgood, LCSW has been a practicing psychotherapist in private practice since 1980. Originally a dancer, she transitioned into working with people therapeutically as a result of the understanding of the mind/body connection that dance gave her. In addition to private practice, she has taught and conducted workshops for practitioners in various body therapies on patient/practitioner boundaries. After 9/11 she trained therapists to identify post traumatic stress disorder in survivors on a grant from the 9/11 Fund. She has just recently presented a paper on issues in experience of infertility at Division 39, the psychoanalytic division of the American Psychological Association and will be presenting the same work at the next conference of the International Association for Relational Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis.
