Laura Caufield is an actress who works in theatre, film and TV. Working in and creating theatre, however, remains her predominant love. Laura is a co-founder of The Fugitive Kind Theatre and with her partners have created and produced the original shows Gay Blues at Barrow Street Theatre and Sarcastic, Sentimental, Bitchy and Sweet at The Laurie Beechman Theatre and Cape Rep Theatre in MA. Her company pairs each show with a charity and has donated a portion of their profits to Marriage Equality NY and P.S. 166’s instrumental music program. Some of her NYC credits include 8 Working Girls (78th St. Theatre Lab), Salome (Chelsea Playhouse), and Shoestring Players (Lincoln Center Out of Doors). TV and film credits include In and Out, America Undercover, Autopsy IX, & All My Children. Laura has studied acting with the renowned directors David Leveaux (Royal Shakespeare Co.), Oleg Yefremov (Moscow Arts Theatre) and Joachim Tenschert (Berliner Ensemble). She holds a B.A. in Theatre Arts from Rutgers University and is a proud member of the unions AEA, SAG & AFTRA. Laura is new to the FYV family and was thrilled to coach her first session at the Museum School this past fall.
