Shadeed A. Elliott

New York native, Shadeed A. Elliott, first worked with FYV as a high school senior. Shadeed is a child of the theater arts, performing in several small theater rolls as a child growing up in Atlantic City, NJ. After he graduated the Horace Mann School in the Bronx, Shadeed went on to earn dual-Bachelor of Arts degrees in Child Development and Sociology at Tufts University. Later, Shadeed returned to Tufts and earned a Master’s degree in Education. While an undergrad, Shadeed performed in several plays with the Black Theater Co. His favorite role was playing Junie in The Colored Museum’s “A Soldier with a Secret.” Shadeed has enjoyed a career in education, working predominantly as a middle school English teacher and independent school administrator. Shadeed has also enjoyed traveling abroad, working for World Learning’s Experiment in International Living, where he has lead student groups through wonderful cultural immersion programs in such beautiful places as Belize (C.A.), Botswana (Southern Africa), and the Republic of South Africa. Shadeed recently became a first time parent, and he now resides in Brooklyn with his girlfriend and their wonderful son.
