Families

Like individuals and couples, families struggle with communication issues. FYV is a time-proven and award-winning method of communication enhancement.

Family relationships get worked out through the creation of 'healing dialogues'

Are you looking to re-focus and re-charge your family?

Wanting to re-connect with one another?

Seeking a fun and creative opportunity to re-engage with each other?

Not sure what ‘family story’ is?

Gail Noppe-Brandon, LMSW and Narrative Coach, will guide you through an experience in self-discovery, (and ‘other discovery’), as you re-learn to express positive wants, offer positive feedback, work through conflict toward resolution, and seek to balance your view of the characters who populate your lives.

The FYV workshop model may be applied to families in a private setting, using one of two models:

  1. Brief, in-depth, task-focused intervention includes guided writing sessions in which participants develop and re-vise a story, in the form of active dialogue.
  2. Open-ended narrative coaching sessions, which may involve writing as a means of articulating the family story, resolving conflicts, opening communication and renewing connection.

“The application of Narrative Coaching in the family therapy context is a far more congenial and creative medium for collective growth than the usual alternatives.”
- Dr. Robert Neimeyer, Department of Psychology, University of Memphis, author Constructivist Psychotherapy
