FYV Certification and Licensing
FYV Coach Training Certification
Led by Gail Noppe-Brandon, LMSW, SSDC, Founding Director FYV
For professional actors, writers, educators and clinicians who wish to:
Become Certified in the award-winning FYV method to join the FYV faculty
Become Certified in the FYV method to work under our license
Based on an interview with the Director, prospective participants who demonstrate the necessary balance of curiosity, compassion and connectivity, as well as good communication and dramaturgical skills, are invited to enroll for a fifteen-thirty hour infusion that can take place during a single week or over the course of two weekends.
This workshop is fully experiential, in which trainees undergo the same process through which they will eventually be leading others. Participants will study published monologues and write and perform one another’s original plays, while honing their pedagogical skills.
At the conclusion of the Training, those who are eligible for Certification will be hired to assist with a workshop, before co-leading and eventually running one on their own, with off-site supervision from the Director. Participants should have flexible schedules, and the desire to work with several of the specific age and theme based groups that we typically run:
- Student afterschool
- Seniors
- Bereavement
- Corporate retreats
15-30 Hour Training (depending upon the size of the group):
- Guided writing sessions in which participants develop, revise and complete finished plays, which inevitably tell the stories of what is on their minds, and in their hearts.
- Guided acting sessions which participants study and perform published monologues, and learn to become better listeners and more sensitive communicators.
- Final presentation for invited guests, who witness the finished plays performed by workshop participants.
