Our Business Journey

Updated: Apr 17

Like many entrepreneurs, our journey into business ownership began as a means to ditch the traditional 9-5 workday. In our previous positions, we were feeling undervalued and underutilized, yet extremely overworked. We were collecting a paycheck, but our day-to-day lives were unfulfilling and stagnant. In addition to this, we were also forced to spend the majority of our day with co-workers we shared nothing in common with, who didn’t inspire us, and sometimes, were even bringing us down! Simply put, we were working for the weekend. Now, you may be thinking, “Girl, that’s just life; get over it!”. But we’re here to tell you: it doesn’t have to be this way!

As humans, when we are led away from our natural states of being, all sorts of chaos will ensue. Physically, we were both feeling fatigued, anxious, and were prescribed cocktails of anti-depressants. Mentally, our confidence was diminished, our creativity was stifled, and we realized, we were not in control of all that we were capable of. Spiritually… Well, we honestly didn’t have enough time in the day to even go there. Although many individuals thrive in the corporate world, we always knew that something just wasn’t right. As emotion-led, relationship-based people, the “daily grind” was literally grinding away at our spirits.

Then, COVID happened. And everything changed.

Suddenly, we could see the light at the end of the tunnel. We could see how much of our time was given to tasks, projects, and people who didn’t light us up. Precious time that could be spent with the ones we love. We didn’t want quarantine to end. We wanted to enjoy coffee with our spouses every single morning. We wanted to take our dog on a nice, long walk in the middle of the day. We wanted that freedom. Sound familiar? That’s why Find Your Voice was born.
